I have Roxio Burn 1.01. It came pre installed on my Dell Laptop but I've never used it. Are there any updates available?

There is no information released on the Internet about a new version for Roxio Burn. In this case, the only way to view if is a new version, open this application and the select About from its Menu Bar and click on Check for updates. If there are any downloads available, click on the link that is provided and start the installation process. If you are not satisfied with this application I suggest you to try Nero tool.
The Roxio Burn came with my Dell and burns music CDs that won't play in my car. Are there any fixes available for this? (iTunes burns same CDs and they're OK).

You need to select the Audio format in Roxio Burn and also tweak the settings. Audio CDs need a 2x-4x burning speed. Any speed over these values will result in a broken CD.
This application is bundled with Dell products but you can download it from the Roxio website. One possibility that may interfere with program's functionality is the update of your Windows operating system. It's possible that with the new updates applied to the system, the application faces compatibility issues.
